backstage for Elie Saab's Haute Couture line Spring 2012

Elie Saab's Haute Couture line for Spring 2012 is gorgeous.
The collection is composed of lace, tulle, sequins, rhinestones, and sparkle.
Floral accents and hues of coral, gold, beige, Robin's egg blue, pale pink, sea foam green, and crisp white.
The models wore elegantly wrapped, sleek ponytails, as well as fresh faced makeup with shimmery cheeks and long lashes.

ladies of the 70s...

Susan Dey, Jane Birkin, Ali Macgraw

Jane Birkin, Ali Macgraw

Some of my largest style influences are the lovely ladies of the 70s.
A blend of East coast prep school, 60s school girl, and slight bohemian casualness.
Susan Dey, Jane Birkin, and Ali Macgraw epitomize this classic look.
The outfit I pieced together above was inspired by Ali's portrayel of Jennifer Cavalleri, a quick-witted, sharp tongued young lady, in the 1970 film Love Story.

cupcake recipes...

I recently came across this blog of wonderful cupcake and cookie recipes.
Each recipe is from-scratch, homemade, and the photos are amazingly appetizing.
I love the unique flavor combinations and the charming yet modern presentation of each cupcake.

Electric Raspberry's film recommendations:

I'm a tremendous film lover, and I watch movies regularly.
Above are a collection of films that I suggest everyone watch.
I've included a wide variety of genres, but I find each film very enjoyable!

To help make your selection easier, here is how I would divide the films based on what mood you're currently in:

"I feel like watching a wonderfully feminine and romantic period piece. Something set in another era that inspires me through language varied from the everyday slang I'm typically accustomed to, costume design, and art. I should see..."
-Marie Antoinette
-An Education
-Bright Star
-Factory Girl
-Pride and Prejudice
-Little Women

"I feel lusty and want to watch something passionate, sexy, and thought provoking. I should see..."
-Stealing Beauty
-Like Crazy
-An Education
-The Virgin Suicides
-American Beauty
-The Dreamers
-Never Let Me Go
-Almost Famous
-Requiem for a Dream
- Paris, je t'aime

"I'm in the mood for something action-packed and/or humorous. -OR MAYBE- I'm watching a film with my boyfriend/guy buddies and I want something that we will all enjoy. We should see..."
-Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
-Kick Ass
-Dazed and Confused

"I want to watch a light, feel-good film with a lot of heart, I should see..."
-Little Miss Sunshine
-Paper Heart
-The Winner of Defiance Idaho
-Julie and Julia
-My One and Only
-All I Wanna Do
-Running with Scissors

"I really just want to watch something with a male protagonist that is at least mildly attractive, whom I will fall in theoretical-love with by the end of the film. I should see..."
-Nowhere Boy
-The Adventures of Sebastian Cole
-The Squid and the Whale
-Art School Confidential

Chloe's new fragrance video...

Chloe has released still shots and a teaser trailer for their upcoming L'eau de Chloe fragrance campaign, featuring Camille Rowe, and directed by Mario Sorrenti. I first fell in love with Rowe when she was featured as the face of Chloe's "Chloe" fragrance [pictured below].
I look forward to seeing the campaign in full, it looks absolutely beautiful.

Simply Breakfast...

Jen Causey is the woman behind the wonderful blog simply breakfast.
She photographs her delicious breakfasts in natural morning light nearly every day.
Her posts feature warm breads, sweet rolls, oatmeal, nuts, fruit preserves, nut butters--
enough to make anyone want to sit down with a warm cup of coffee and begin their day as she does. Beautiful cutlery and unique dish-ware, something lovely to read, and breakfast.
