One of my go-to rules for styling everyday outfits is to utilize the method of hi/low fashion--
pairing high-quality designer pieces along with super affordable basics and thrifted finds.
hi/low is nearly an art-form when practiced properly, as silly as that may sound.
The key is to be a mindful and forward-thinking shopper.
Neutral tank tops, a basic shift dress, brass bangles...
these are all items you can save cash on by purchasing affordable and nondescript pieces
from stores like Zara, H&M, Top Shop...
Pairing them with an iconic bag or amazing sunglasses
can make your entire look appear effortlessly high-quality.
The key is to make the high-end items your statement pieces.
It's easy to spot a Balenciaga bag in a glance, but not as easy to compare an Alexander Wang tank
from a more affordable imitator.
Taking hi/low a step further is really fun once you begin to take risks
and experiment with pairing very obviously casual items along with lux designer finds.
Destroyed denim Levis and Chuck Taylors worn along with
a thick, oversized sweater from The Row and a Chloe Faye bag.
Take a gorgeous maxi dress and wear it with badass and beat-up motorcycle boots!
The looks below perfectly blend casual and fanciful pieces in a truly awesome way.
