How To Incorporate The Styling From Stranger Things Into Your Own Wardrobe... (shopping guide included)

Anyone who knows me personally or follows any of my various social media outlets knows that I’m next-level obsessed with Stranger Things. (It’s essentially the only thing I can talk about as of late.) The series blends nostalgia and innovation seamlessly, which is no easy feat. Many films and tv series have attempted to tap into past eras and reinvent them for new audiences, but very few are able to do so as subtly as Stranger Things. It’s impossible not to compare the series to classic films of the late 70s-80s- Stand By Me, The Goonies, E.T., Close Encounters of the Third Kind— but the overall plot of Stranger Things is it’s own entity and is the contrast to all of that Nostalgia, keeping it’s viewers more-than engaged. As opposed to feeling like a tribute series, Stranger Things feels like it’s own 8-hour sci-fi kid-centered Summer film that holds it’s own in the great company of it’s predecessors. There are a lot of stand-out components to the series but one in particular that I wanted to touch on was the impeccable styling so painstakingly assembled— a picture-perfect portal into the early 80s. I found myself rummaging through my closet for old camp t-shirts to wear with sneakers and a baseball cap. I’m sure the Duffer brothers couldn’t have predicted the likelihood of Dustin becoming a current fashion influencer, but we all collectively shut our laptops after episode 8 and realized we low-key wanted to dress like these kids. I could go on and on (and on and on and on) about Stranger Things, but I’ll cut myself short. Below I’ve assembled a shopping guide to blend the styling of primarily Will, Dustin, and Lucas (with some Jonathan and Nancy thrown in for good measure) into your own wardrobe. Should I stay or should I go shopping…

(For anyone interested, I’ve posted my season 2 theories/predictions here!)

and let's not forget Nancy, who has some killer outfits of her own:
